In furtherance of the capacity building initiatives of the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, as well as in compliance with Presidential Executive Order No 5, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has progressively built local capacity for the conduct of major aircraft maintenance activities, including Periodic Depot Maintenance (PDM) of various aircraft types in its inventory. As a result, the Service has reactivated over 20 erstwhile unserviceable aircraft and in the process raised the serviceability of operable platforms from about 35% in 2015 to the current level of over 80%.
